Ancient Thrills: Athens Sounio Coastal Buggy Adventure

This adventure was absolutely amazing! The guided tour through Athens, the remote towns, the beaches, coves, lakes and other cool little places off the beaten path were fantastic. Our guide was the best! He was very friendly, informative, and full of information with every question that we asked. He definitely has a passion for this beautiful area and you can hear it in his voice with the excitement he has when he tells of the areas, the history, the people, and the myths. We stopped to eat at a place right on the waters edge. The food was amazing, staff was great, and it completely added to our perfect day. If I ever make it back to Athens, I would definitely do this trip again and highly recommend it to anybody else that loves a great adventure.

Stavros was an amazing tour guide. Not only were we lucky and it was just our group so we were able to explore more and take our time but we had a girl that was dehydrated and he was amazing helping us take care of her with snacks and drinks. Would 1000% do this again. You get to see so much of Greece in a day just from driving and enjoying the open air.

What a wonderful way to spend a day in Greece! We enjoyed a beautiful drive down the coast to Temple of Poseidon, stopping along the way to enjoy the area. On our return back we were treated to a wonderful meal - one of the best meals we had on our vacation.

Tour guide didn’t have vehicles so we were delayed 40 minutes. Once we got going everything was fine but honestly for the price I feel it’s not a great value. You will also incur fees of 37 euros per person to access sites at stops

A unique way to see the Athens coastline and suburbs. The vehicles were safe and in great shape. The tour guide was awesome and flexible to our pace.

Fantastic trip, a must do! Manolis was an awesome guide (was just the 2 buggies me/daughter and him)--chilly day but layered up and enjoyed the scenic ride with periodic stops to look at the sights and then out to the temple!! Lunch stop on the way back was awesome, food fantastic and being able to talk with our guide about the area/country was nice. Recommend if chilly, bring layers including hat and blanket--there is no heat/windows - car has bluetooth so can listen to music while looking at the amazing coastline. If looking for something different and getting out of the city, this is it!

Our buggy tour to Lake Vouliagmeni and the Temple of Poseidon was absolutely amazing from start to finish. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Manolis, who was super friendly and made us feel comfortable right away. To our surprise, it turned out we were the only ones on the tour, so we ended up having a private experience, which was fantastic. Manolis provided us with safety tips and then gave us time to connect our music to the buggy’s Bluetooth system, which added an extra layer of fun to the adventure. From there, we started driving through the scenic roads of Athens, making a stop at a marina to take pictures, enjoy the views, and learn some interesting facts. Next, we headed to Lake Vouliagmeni, leaving the city behind and heading towards the coast. The lake itself was beautiful, with sunbeds, private sections, and a restaurant on-site. Manolis shared the fascinating history of the lake with us before we relaxed in the healing waters. After about an hour, we texted Manolis when we were ready to leave and continued our journey. The next stop was a small monument/chapel by the coast, where Manolis told us a beautiful romantic story behind it. After taking some pictures, we continued our journey to the Temple of Poseidon. The 45-minute drive to the temple was pure magic, with blue skies, clear waters, and sandy mountains on either side—truly breathtaking. When we arrived at the Temple of Poseidon, it was even more stunning than we imagined, perched on the edge of a mountain cliff. Manolis shared fascinating stories and history about the temple, Poseidon, and Athena. We spent about half an hour walking around, enjoying the monument and the spectacular views. The temple also has a restaurant with a beautiful view if you want to grab a bite. Our last stop was a hidden gem restaurant where we enjoyed the best gyros we’ve ever had! We had a great time chatting with Manolis and getting to know him better over our meal. The ride back to Athens was the perfect way to end the day. The sunset was breathtaking, with vibrant colors filling the sky, creating a magical moment to remember as we headed back to the city. We would 100% recommend this tour without any hesitation. It was a truly unforgettable experience, made even better by our fantastic guide, Manolis. If you’re looking for an adventure in Athens, this is definitely a must-do!

What fun!!! Great things to see. Would like one more thing to see / do if this time of year and can’t swim. But well Worth it

We had an awesome time with Buggy Tours. Easy to drive, the buggy has Bluetooth to play your own music. Great views and stops along the way. Our guide Manolis was excellent and knowledgeable. Great way to spend a day outside Athens and see the coast and ruins. Highly recommend!

What wasn’t great about this day? It was the perfect way to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city of Athens. Riding in the dune buggy was a lot of fun! Manolis was an amazing, knowledgeable guide! I would recommend this tour and would definitely request Manolis as your guide. The restaurant we went to for lunch was delicious as well!
